Stormwatch‘s theme and album cover seemed to be rather prophetic for the band, with the coming personnel departures and the confusing genre-bending of Jethro Tull’s near future albums in the early s. ~ Part of Classic Rock Review’s celebration of the 35th anniversary of albums.

May 14,  · Hello All Just wondering what's over the hill after the Stormwatch 40th release pencilled in for this year. I'm eager for Tull to ramp up with releases, simply because I feel that if they stick religiously to the 40th (or 50th)anniversary release schedule they simply might never get around to finishing off the campaign.

Stormwatch marked the end of an era in Jethro Tull's history, as the last album on which longtime members Barriemore Barlow, John Evan, and David Palmer participated, and the final appearance of bassist John Glascock, who played on three of the cuts (Anderson supplied the bass elsewhere) and died following open-heart surgery a few weeks after its release.4/
